Our new shirt features the Divine Mercy image that was first revealed to Saint Faustina. The world calls us back to God’s fundamental mission of salvation for mankind, which is his Divine Mercy. He alone has the power to forgive our sins and draw us back into a life of grace and ultimately into eternal union in the next life. In this image he reveals how his heart is ever emanating mercy to the whole world. The rays of red and white symbolize the unlimited grace available through the sacraments of baptism, confession, and the Eucharist. He wants to be seen by us as this fount of mercy and therefore desires that we venerate this image so that in prayer our minds may first be aware of his Divine Mercy. He does not desire justice and to be separated from us instead he has made expiation for our sins and asks that we accept him and his selfless offering so that we can be forever united in Christ.

This is so beautifully expressed in one of St. Faustina’s writings when she says,

“All grace flows from mercy, and the last hour abounds with mercy for us.  Let no one doubt concerning the goodness of God; even if a person’s sins were as dark as night, God’s mercy is stronger than our misery.  One thing alone is necessary; that the sinner set ajar the door of his heart, be it ever so little, to let in a ray of God’s merciful grace, and then God will do the rest.” (No. 1507)
